IELTSdojo is a web-based IELTS speaking practice service operated by Lexigram LTD ("Lexigram LTD", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy applies to the IELTSdojo website and webapp only. It does not apply to any prior mobile-app experience.
We collect and use personal data to authenticate users, run live speaking sessions, maintain the security of the service, understand aggregate usage, and respond to support requests. Where applicable, we rely on contract, legitimate interests, legal obligations, and consent as our legal bases for processing.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
If you create an account, we may collect your email address, display name, authentication provider, Firebase user identifier, and related account metadata.
Session and Practice Data
When you use a live speaking session, microphone audio, prompts, transcripts generated during or after the session, model responses, feedback, and session state data may be processed so the service can deliver the experience and let you review completed practice.
For completed practice sessions, including Maya lessons and full mock tests, we may save the captured conversation transcript, assessment evidence, and personalized coaching in your account's practice history so you can review them later. These records are visible only through authenticated account access, but they are also processed by us and the service providers needed to transcribe, assess, host, secure, and operate the feature.
Technical and Analytics Data
We may collect browser type, device information, IP-derived network information, pages visited, referring pages, timestamps, session duration, crash or error diagnostics, and similar telemetry.
Support and Communications
If you contact us, we collect the information you choose to provide, including your email address and the contents of your message.
3. How We Use Information
- To authenticate users and manage signed-in sessions.
- To deliver live IELTS speaking practice and related product functionality.
- To save completed practice history, transcripts, results, and personalized coaching for your review.
- To monitor abuse, protect the platform, and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
- To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve site performance and reliability.
- To respond to customer support messages and operational notices.
- To comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes when required.
4. Service Providers and Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only where needed to operate the service or where required by law.
- Firebase and Google may process account authentication, session handling, and related infrastructure data on our behalf.
- Microsoft Azure may process live audio, pronunciation assessment, transcription, and realtime model interaction data so the IELTS speaking session can function.
- ElevenLabs may process speaking audio to produce the candidate transcript used for full-mock results.
- OpenAI may process minimized transcript evidence and assessment context to generate personalized transcript coaching. We configure this coaching request not to be stored by the model API where the provider supports that option.
- Vercel may process analytics and hosting-related telemetry for website performance and usage.
- Professional advisers, regulators, courts, or law enforcement may receive data where disclosure is legally required or reasonably necessary to protect our rights or users.
5. Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
- Account records may be retained while your account remains active and for a reasonable period after.
- Authentication cookies are short-lived and expire automatically.
- Operational logs, analytics, and provider-side telemetry may be retained for security, debugging, and service improvement for limited periods consistent with our providers' tooling and legal obligations.
- Saved practice history may include full-mock transcripts, assessment artifacts, and coaching, and may remain available while your account is active unless it is deleted or anonymized under our retention processes.
- If you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal data we control unless we need to keep it for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or record-keeping purposes.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal data, including access controls, encrypted transport, and established cloud infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International Transfers
Our providers may process data in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States, or other jurisdictions where they operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate contractual or legal safeguards for cross-border transfers.
